TABATA is a High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), also called high-Intensity intermittent exercise or sprint interval training.   It involves 20 seconds work efforts followed by 10 seconds rest, repeated eight times for a total of 4 minutes. Every 4 minutes is one complete Tabata.
